The Fourth of July is a very special day for our country as we take time out of our busy schedules to celebrate the wonderful gift of freedom that we enjoy as a nation. There has never been a nation of people who have enjoyed the immense freedoms that we have as Americans. The freedoms that we have today come as a direct result of the bravery of our men and women who have put everything on the line and sacrificed themselves to fight on our behalf.

    

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks slaves or free – and all were made to drink of one Spirit (I Corinthians 12:12-13, emphasis added).

 

Hello! My name is Rachel Sullivan, and I look forward to serving you this summer! A lot of you may already know me, as Parma Heights Baptist Church is my home church and I grew up here. It was here that I discovered my passion of working with small children by volunteering with our toddlers during the time I was in high school.

    

This past winter, I was in search of a specific tool for a project at home. I went to my usual big box hardware store (name withheld so as not to offend anyone). I wandered through the store looking for this small obscure tool. I eventually approached the “help” desk in the department I believed the tool should be in.
