If you follow our blog regularly, you know that last week I mentioned how grateful I am for things, especially when they’re gone for a time, citing our dishwasher debacle as a prime example. (If you missed it, you can check that post out here.) What I failed to mention, was that since then, we have replaced it with a brand new machine. But that took about 5 weeks. Five weeks! During that time, I learned a bit about waiting, a little about patience, some about my own heart, and a lot about expectations.

Happy Thanksgiving! (By Dan Adams)

It’s been said that you never know what you have until it’s gone. Very recently I found out how true that is. About a month ago, our dishwasher decided that instead of washing dishes, it wanted to wash the kitchen floor with a flash flood. This was not one of its advertised options. After mopping up the floor, and several fruitless repair attempts, we finally admitted that it was dead.

Do Not Give Up (By Matt Vince)

Who doesn’t love a good action movie? A fight of good versus evil to the bitter end with the good guy coming out on top! We see it all the time, especially with every new comic book movie that comes out in theaters. We love the lone hero who stands up against the supervillain, the corrupt government, or the evil billionaire set on corporate domination and greed! The really good stories make us want to be heroes ourselves.

Hospitality (By Jon Perkins)

My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. In fact, I enjoy waking up early and getting breakfast. I don’t do it every morning, unfortunately, but there is never a bad breakfast in my opinion. Name the breakfast place and I love it: Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Victoria’s, Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, etc. In fact, once a week I go to Denny’s with two friends and enjoy an hour or so long breakfast that’s filled with coffee, eggs, fruit, French toast (sometimes), pancakes (occasionally), and of course, more coffee.
