The Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite times of the year. For one, it’s in the middle of my favorite season of the year. Some of my fondest memories from childhood revolve around family gatherings on the 4th, eating BBQ, swimming all day and watching fireworks at night. The Bible tells us that before the return of the Lord, the world will experience a chilling event. In those days, “the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4).
