Optimism in a Pessimistic World (Part 12 – Grace Wins)
Part 12 – Grace Wins
Romans 5:12-21
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 5:20-21).

Draw the Circle (Week 1 – Drawing A Circle)
Rodney “Gyspy” Smith was born on the outskirts of London in 1860. At age 16, he gave his life to Jesus and taught himself to read and write so he could start preaching. It seemed everywhere he went, revival was right on his heels. Rodney issued a challenge to those who would long for a revival. He said, “Go home. Lock yourself in your room. Kneel down in the middle of the floor, and with a piece of chalk draw a circle around yourself. There, on your knees, pray fervently and brokenly that God would start a revival within that circle.”
Welcome to the 40 Day Prayer Challenge! Today, we are each going to identify what it is we need to circle in prayer and begin to persistently and boldly pray until God answers.

He Still Rolls Away Stones (Week 5: The Stone of Pride)
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18).

All of you, clothe yourself with humility toward one another, because ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble' (1 Peter 5:5).

Finding Joy in the Journey (Week 10)
Let me just ask you a straight-up question: Why are so many churches filled with animosity, bitterness, and conflict? Why is it sometimes so difficult to love members of one’s own church? James, the half-brother of Jesus, writing to first century believers, gives us the answer to this question: The Causes and Extent of Conflict (James 4:1-4).

Finding Joy in the Journey (Week 4)
In the movie "City Slickers", Billy Crystal and two buddies are experiencing a mid-life crisis and decide to go on a cattle drive to “find themselves.” One day, Curly – the old, leathery cattle drive lead – asks Billy, “Do you know what the secret to life is?” Billy responds, “No, what?” Holding up one finger, Curly says, “It’s this. One thing. You figure out what that one thing is, and the rest of life don’t mean nothing.”
Have you ever wondered what the “one thing” for the Church would be?
