About Us | Relationship with Christ

familyIs a relationship with God possible?

How do you have a relationship with someone who is invisible and inaudible?

Everyone, at one time or another, cries out to someone bigger than they are, someone who might be able to answer life’s tough questions. Our hearts long for the God who created us and for the perfect peace and love which He intended for us to experience. We were designed to have a joyful and everlasting relationship with Him. So, what went wrong?

Sin creates a wide gulf between us and God.

Sin is our selfishness, our determination to do things our way. We try to bridge the gap between ourselves and God using our own power by doing good works, praying, trying to lead moral lives and observing religious practices. These things are good, but the Bible cautions, “...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. Our attempts to come close to God fall short because we cannot escape our sin.

God could have chosen to abandon us, but He didn’t.

He loves us. He wants to have a relationship with us. And so He did what we could not do. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10b. How? God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to bring them together. (see 1 Timothy 2:5 and John 14:6)

God has provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him.

But it is up to us to receive Jesus Christ into our hearts and invite Him into our lives. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

How do I receive Christ?

Your relationship with God will become real to you when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

To receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, you must follow four simple steps.

• Admit your need: "I am a sinner"

• Be willing to turn from your sins

• Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose from the grave

• Through prayer, ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness and invite Him to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit

What do I pray?

God I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you were serious with God, you have been born again into His family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. You are a new creation, and your relationship with God has been restored!

We would like to help you grow in faith and love for God. If you have received Jesus into your heart and life, please let us know. We’ll help you along your journey into God’s kingdom of love and peace.
