Beautiful Feet (By Dan Adams)

Has anyone ever complimented you on your feet, or called them beautiful? That’s a solid no for me, for sure. At best, my feet can be described as serviceable. They get the job done. But beautiful – not once.

Many years ago, mostly as a joke I think, my sister-in-law gifted me with a pedicure for my birthday. I won’t traumatize you with the details, but stones and blades were involved. I will never forget the look of dismay on the nail technician’s face. It was priceless. I felt bad for her.

Far better than a pedicure, I know a surefire way to guarantee that you have beautiful feet. The Apostle Paul, in Romans 10:15, tells us, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Paul is quoting from the prophet Isaiah, who said, How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation…” (Isaiah 52:7)

The obvious point here is that it’s a beautiful thing when we take the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ, with us wherever we go. Every step we take today is through enemy-occupied territory. And yet, we go as bold ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). By God’s authority and power, we have the opportunity and responsibility to take the message of salvation everywhere we go.

So, I want to ask you – where are your feet taking you today? Those beautiful feet of yours have the privilege of taking the good news that Jesus saves with you with every step you take, to a lost and dying generation.

Where will your beautiful feet take you today? Be sure to take the Good News of Jesus Christ with you!
