Our Team (By Shane Prewitt)

One of my favorite parts of being a Pastor is being able to work alongside others to fulfill the mission of Christ here in this world. I’ve only been at PHBC for a few months, but I have already fallen in love with the staff that I get to work with every day.

God has blessed us with a gifted pastoral and ministry staff that, above everything else, has a deep love for Christ and His church. It is a privilege to be able to serve with each and every one of them.

One of my early goals at PHBC was to spend time getting to know my staff not only a personal basis but to gain an understanding of their passions in ministry. My stated goal to our staff and deacon board has been to get our players in the right position on the team to leverage their strengths in ministry. While there may always be tweaking that happens in the future, here is a short summary of our pastoral staff’s ministry descriptions and responsibilities.

Dan Adams: Associate Pastor

Dan has been a key staff Pastor at PHBC since 2010, serving in various roles including youth ministry, young adults, and most recently our Interim Senior Pastor. Dan is a man who models grace and compassion and ministers with high character. I am excited that Dan has moved into the role of Associate Pastor of PHBC and will be giving leadership to key areas of our church including:

  • Oversight of our Youth Ministry
  • Oversight of our Young Adult Ministry
  • Oversight of Church Administration
Regarding church administration, he will, in coordination with the Administrative Deacons, Senior Pastor, Finance Committee, and Property Management, oversee, direct, and make recommendation to improve the administrative, personnel, financial, and custodial functions at PHBC.

Jon Perkins: Discipleship and Senior Adults Pastor

Jon has been serving at PHBC since 2018, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in several key areas of our church that will really help us as we move forward. Jon has a very compassionate heart and truly cares for everyone that God places in his pathway. I am thankful that God brought Jon to PHBC last year and excited to see him have the opportunity to maximize his gifts and abilities at our church. Regarding his ministry endeavors, Jon’s primary responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of Discipleship Program including Growth Groups
  • Oversight of Outreach initiatives to engage the community with the gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Oversight of our Senior Adult Program at PHBC

Pam Scott: Children’s Pastor

Pam has served at PHBC for over 40 years and continues to lead our children’s ministry with excellence and passion. I recently told Pam that I have been dreaming about having someone like her leading my children’s ministry for 18 years. God has blessed us with the highest caliber children’s leader a church or Pastor could ever want and we are incredibly blessed to have her continue to serve in her current role.

Tim Hunsicker: Connections Pastor

Tim grew up at PHBC and God has done an incredible work in his life throughout the years. Tim currently serves as a full-time missionary with ABWE while also serving with us as our Connections Pastor. He and his wife Cara pour their time into our Connections Ministry, building and equipping our team to serve our guests well alongside making key connections with para church ministries in the area. Our church is greatly blessed by all the efforts that the Hunsicker family puts into their ministry endeavors here at PHBC and we are very thankful for them.

Matt Vince: Youth Director

In 2018, Matt stepped up to be our Interim Youth Director while Dan Adams served as our Interim Senior Pastor. Matt has a tremendous passion for Christ and loves people. God has gifted him with a passion to be a team player and he is willing to help wherever needed. In September of this year, Matt moved back into a part-time position to assist in our youth ministry and continues to pour his life into our teens. We are thankful for Matt’s flexibility to serve where needed and for the passion for people that he exudes every single day.

We have a great pastoral staff at PHBC, and they love Jesus and they love our church. I love working with them and being their biggest cheerleader. I am excited to see what the Lord has for us in the coming days as we move forward together.

Better Together,
Pastor Shane Prewitt
