• Adult and youth group leaders patiently watching over their handful of students.
• Volunteers carefully counting out snacks and drinks for each child and worker.
• Our facilities team making sure everything is in place so that ministry could happen without distraction.
• Actors and singers creatively teaching Bible truths.
• Parents filling their minivans, bringing the neighborhood kids.
• First aid workers making sure everyone stays healthy and safe.
• Department heads organizing supplies while encouraging and resourcing their leaders.
• Activity directors using a variety of stations to reinforce the biblical truths of the day.
• Office staff members making sure volunteers have all of the supplies they need, keeping the operations running smoothly.
• Parking lot attendants greeting and dismissing each family with a friendly and kind word.

That’s just what I witnessed today, and doesn’t account for the many others who have served over the past few months leading up to Summer Shake-Up who have: prayed, cut out countless nametags and craft supplies, organized registration, helped promote the ministry to the community, and brought in piles of snacks. The list could go on and on. There’s a place for everyone to serve.

 

I know you don’t serve for thanks or recognition – you serve out of a love for Jesus. But I want you to know your faithful service is recognized and greatly appreciated. You are making a difference for the Kingdom.

 

I have to imagine it was a season of ministry like this that prompted Paul to write these words…
