Dear PHBC Family,
In March I sent out a general Health and Safety email, letting you know how we’re preparing in light of the concern with COVID-19 (coronavirus). Since then, things have been developing rather quickly and continue to evolve on a daily basis. Governor Mike DeWine issued a new executive order that went into effect at midnight on April 7 and was set to expire on May 1. On April 30, Dr. Amy Acton signed a new executive order that extends “Stay at Home/Shelter in Place” through May 29. We will continue to abide by these guidelines out of love for our church family and our surrounding community, and our building will be closed for services and activities through the month of May.
But PHBC is much more than a building, a program, or a service. So we’re inviting you to worship with us this Sunday via our Livestream. You can worship with us live at 11:00am, or any time after that. The PHBC Livestream is available on YouTube by searching for “PHBC Media.” Pastor Shane will be bringing timely and relevant messages that are sure to be an encouragement to you. This is a great time to invite your friends to join us in our online worship, especially those who may be fearful or anxious.
Many of you are giving faithfully to the ministries of PHBC – thank you! If you usually give during worship services, I’d like to encourage you to consider giving securely online, either at https://www.phbaptist.org/give/ or through the GivePlus app, available in your app store. Your gifts are needed to continue the work of the ministry, and to provide aid to those in need. You might even consider an additional gift to our Benevolent Fund by indicating “benevolent” with your online donation.
Both Parma Heights Christian Academy and Sonshine Preschool are closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, in line with the Governor’s instruction and surrounding school systems.
We know that sickness and disruptions like this impact us all in different ways. If you find yourself in need, don’t hesitate to reach out. If you’re able help with deliveries to those who are shut-in, let us know. You can reach our church office at 440.886.6100 or phbc@phbaptist.org. Our church office is currently closed, but messages will be frequently checked, and we are available via email and communication through our Facebook page.
Our church leadership team will continue to monitor this situation actively as it develops and provide timely updates, including any additional changes, through our website, email, and social media. Let’s be gracious and patient with one another during this challenging time.
It’s my prayer that the Prince of Peace will guard your hearts and minds with the peace that surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
