Dear PHBC Family,
Earlier in March I sent out a general Health and Safety email, letting you know how we’re preparing in light of the concern with COVID-19 (coronavirus). Since then, things have been developing rather quickly. Yesterday, Governor Mike DeWine addressed the State of Ohio. During this press conference he instructed all Ohio schools to close for 3 weeks, through April 3, and limited gatherings to under 100 people. After much consideration and prayer, and out of love for our church family and our surrounding community, the leadership of PHBC has decided that our building will be closed for services and activities through April 4.
But PHBC is much more than a building, a program, or a service. So we’re inviting you to worship with us this Sunday via our Livestream. You can worship with us live at 11:00am, or any time after that. The PHBC Livestream is available on Facebook or on YouTube by searching for “PHBC Media.” We are postponing the Who Stole My Church series for the time being. Instead, Pastor Shane will be bringing a timely and relevant message that’s sure to be an encouragement to you. This is a great time to invite your friends to join us in our online worship, especially those who may be fearful or anxious.
Many of you are giving faithfully to the ministries of PHBC – thank you! If you usually give during worship services, I’d like to encourage you to consider giving securely online, either at or through the GivePlus app, available in your app store. Your gifts are needed to continue the work of the ministry, and to provide aid to those in need. You might even consider an additional gift to our Benevolent Fund by indicating “benevolent” with your online donation.
Both Parma Heights Christian Academy and Sonshine Preschool are closed through April 3, in line with the Governor’s instruction and surrounding school systems.
We know that sickness and disruptions like this impact us all in different ways. If you find yourself in need, don’t hesitate to reach out. If you’re able help with deliveries to those who are shut-in, let us know. You can reach our church office at 440.886.6100 or Our church office will remain open during adjusted hours, 9:00am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Our church leadership team will continue to monitor this situation actively as it develops and provide timely updates, including any additional changes, through our website, email, and social media. Let’s be gracious and patient with one another during this challenging time.
It’s my prayer that the Prince of Peace will guard your hearts and minds with the peace that surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
