Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him – a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).

Worship Together, Grow Together, Serve Together

We believe that everyone should be in a Group!

Looking at our world, we see scores of people who are detached and isolated from each other. Whether this is a result of the increasing use of social media or just unfortunate life circumstances, “isolation” and “seclusion” are common in our culture. PHBC desires to be a church who spends time together. Our Groups are open groups, meaning all are welcome. Come and invite friends and neighbors to join you in growing together in Christ.

At PHBC, we’re trying to make it easier for you to find people who share your interests. We know that when you get together with people and have fun, you’ll begin to grow into a strong community that serves and grows together.

No matter who you are or where you are, there’s a group for you. Join a Group and experience real relationships that will grow your faith.

GROWTH GROUPS

COMMUNITY GROUPS

CONNECT GROUPS

The goal of Growth Groups is to encourage people to grow into spiritually maturing disciples. It’s intentionally designed so that we can ask questions and learn from one another. Each group strives to show how God’s Word impacts our daily life and how we can go about making it real and personal.

Growth Groups is where we foster meaningful, supportive relationships
with others. It’s difficult, at best, to develop close, worthwhile friendships when you only see one another occasionally on Sunday. Relationships take time and purpose to develop…and that’s what Growth Groups specialize in!

The majority of our Growth Groups meet on Sunday mornings at the church, but we do have groups that meet during the week at different times at people’s homes and points of interest in the community.
Community Groups are groups of people that intentionally use their interest, passions, and gifts to reach their “community” for Christ. Community Groups often consist of a community of 6-15 people pursuing life together to serve and impact people.

There is a devotional discussion as part of the group with the idea of building relationships through common interest, passions, and gifts. These groups meet in various locations and at different times and days throughout the week. Community groups are perfect for building community through a span of different fellowship and activities.

These groups last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes and typically go for 8 to 10 weeks. They provide an environment of love, care, and accountability, as well as an effective way to help people not “fall through the cracks.”
A Connect Group is a small group of people who meet regularly to establish a sense of community and connection to help live out the reality of the Christian life on a day-to-day basis.

The benefits of participating in a Connect Group are limitless. In the context of this smaller group you will be able to establish deeper relationships in a warm and safe environment. You will be accepted for who you are while at the same time be encouraged and equipped to reach your full potential in God. This group will be a loving and dedicated community as well as a place to grow in areas of serving others.

Connect Groups meet at different people’s homes, coffee shops, libraries, and other locations. These groups offer different studies to help you grow in your relationship with Christ. Connect Groups are like Community Groups in that they meet for 60 to 90 minutes and last
between 8 to 10 weeks.

Is Childcare Provided?

Not all Groups offer childcare, but there are options available. Some Group members share the responsibility of watching the kids, split the cost for a sitter, or make other arrangements. All Sunday Morning Groups have childcare available through our amazing
Children’s Ministry. Let us know if you would like to join a Group with a childcare option.

How Often Do Groups Meet?

Groups meet on different days and times throughout the week. Some meet every week, some every other week, or some meet once a month.

Where Do Groups Meet?

Groups meet at church, in homes, restaurants, or coffee shops. Some Groups meet to run or go for a ride. We can help you find a Group near you and based on an activity you’re interested in, or location.

What Will My Group Do?

It depends on the kind of Group you choose. Some Groups study a particular book, do video lessons, study the Bible together, etc. And some get together to enjoy a shared interest, such as board games, music, or video games.

What If I Don’t Like the First Group I Try?

Groups are about people, and people are all different and, well, not perfect. Thankfully there are many groups to choose from, so if you try one and it’s just not quite the best fit, no worries! Try another one! The key is to not give up. We believe there is a Group that is right for everyone.
